Great book covers

It’s Saturday, it’s spring and it’s sunny. Thus, it makes sense to write a post about my favourite scientific book covers, from the fields of Archaeology/Anthropology/Philosophy of Science/Theology. A great cover, which embodies and re-presents the very essence of the topic contained is a must for any good text. Beyond its content, a scientific text can also become almost like a work of art, to inspire and provoke the imagination on multiple levels. As no comments will be needed, it’s going to be an image only top 🙂

1. The Body as Material Culture

2. Unwrapping the Sacred Bundle: Reflections on the Disciplining of Anthropology

3. After the Death of God

4. Evocative objects

5. The Social Archaeology of Funerary Remains
